busuu.com/— Registration with email address required. Combines language learning with social networking. You help others learn your language while you learn their language. Has vocabulary, reading comprehension, and writing. Corrections of writing assignments are sent to you almost immediately by email. You have to pay to listen to audio, but video chat with native speakers is free.
Word Spark— This site is my favorite! It always has interesting topics and questions, and its never boring! Topics include music, movies, news, and—oh yes—you can find grammar and spelling, too.
Pumarosa— Popular Spanish–English site with vocabulary, pronunciation, and exercises. From ABC Level to Intermediate.
Dave's ESL Cafe— Possibly the world's most famous ESL site. Start with Stuff for Students at the top of the page. Stuff for Everyone is useful for students, too.
ESL Gold— This site is gold mine of quizzes, grammar, vocabulary, and useful expressions for conversation, and has the bonus of being easy to navigate. Click on a topic at the topic of the page, and then choose your level. Easy!
BBC Learning English— I love this site from the British Broadcasting Company! If you have studied British English or want to see/hear the differences between British and American English, this is the site for you. Adventurous listeners could try the Flatmates videos. In U.S. English, a flat is an apartment; flatmates are called roommates.
ESL Activities— Choose a type of activity and then a difficulty level (Easy, Medium, or Difficult). There are also bilingual links for vocabulary quizzes in 44 different languages.
ACC ESOL Classes— This site will answer your questions about Continuing Education and Academic (college credit) ESOL classes.
Many Things— Word games, puzzles, quizzes, exercises, slang, proverbs, and much more. Click on Easy Things for Beginners if you're just getting started with English.
English Club— This is a site I got from one of my students. You could spend hours exploring all the resources here. If you're not sure what to click on, try Learn English to start with.
Study Zone— This is possibly the easiest to use multi-function site I've found. Start by choosing your level, and then choose the kind of activity you want to work on.
